Mood: Pleasantly chilled!
15th June 2006
Windsurfing: Ythan Estuary, Aberdeen
Wind Direction: S
Wind Stength: 18-25mph
Surf / Sea State: Flat, some chop
Air Temperature: Warm
Sea Temperature: Warm
Weather: Sunny
Max Speed: 27mph (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 16 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

My boss told me to leave work early, go home and watch the England game, so this is exactly what I did - went home, loaded kit up, set video, went sailing came home and watched match with a beer later in the evening.

Wasn't really expecting any wind, but the thermals must have kicked in because the forecast was for maybe 8mph winds, but the wind was pretty constant 20mph. With such a lovely day, I couldn't believe nobody else was out. Anyway, rigged 6.3m on new Predator boom and was out on the water in less than 10 minutes. Nicely powered up, and the wind was gradually building. Was having a great time, and after about an hour, Dan turned up and rigged and got out on the water pretty quickly. Both of us were having a ball, and the conditions were perfect for freestyling (he is much better than me at the this kind of thing), but the conditions were really encouraging us to try new stuff - most of which I didn't make in my case, but fun none the less.

A fanastically fun session in virtually perfect conditions for the estuary.
